The client sent a 3D file. We sent back 150 pieces.
Some clients arrive with a rough sketch. This one, a large law firm, arrived with a finished 3D model of the object they wanted: a small mountain range that holds a phone. The pieces were Christmas gifts for the firm's clients.
Our job was to carry the file from screen to desk: print the master, build the molds, cast the run and have every box ready before the holiday.

Sharp geometric peaks with a valley between them, sized so a phone rests at a comfortable reading angle. The design came from the client complete, and our work started where the file ended: checking wall thicknesses, the balance point and how the casting would release from a mold.
Cast without pigment, the holders keep the shade of the cement itself, and each piece varies gently from its neighbours, the way raw material does.
Underneath, each holder carries a cork base. The client chose it on our advice: cork keeps the concrete from marking a desk and rounds the object off neatly, so the gift is as considerate as it is solid.
Print once, mold, then cast 150 times.
We printed the master model on a 3D printer straight from the client's file, then built silicone molds around it. From those molds the run was cast in grey cement with sand and marble chips in the mix, giving each piece its weight and a fine stone grain.
This route, a printed master plus silicone molds, is how we take a one-off digital shape into a repeatable production run without losing the crisp edges.
150 desks by Christmas.
The full run of 150 was cast, finished and, at the client's request, packed into individual gift boxes. The firm received cartons of presents rather than a shipment of parts: take a box, add a card, hand it to a client. A year-end gift that stays on the desk long after the season.
The firm's name stays between us and the firm. Discretion is part of the service, and legal clients tend to appreciate that most of all.
